The Brass Band of Central Florida
under the music direction and baton of Chad Shoopman,
features Central Florida’s finest brass and
percussion musicians performing in the British
brass band style with a uniquely American twist.
The organization has an active performance
schedule including concerts and competitions nationally
and internationally.
The band competes at the
United States Open Brass Band
Championships
and in the Championship section of the
North American Brass Band
Association
and has
appeared with
world-class soloists including
David Childs
and Robert Childs
(euphonium),
Philip Smith
(trumpet) and
Steven Mead
(euphonium).
Internationally, the BBCF has performed at the
British Open Brass Band Championships in
Birmingham, England, the Brass on Sundays Gala
Concert in Birmingham's Symphony Hall,
the
Brass in Concert Championship at
The Sage,
Gateshead,
and as one of two featured bands at the World
of Brass in Concert.
The band has performed concerts in Banbury, Bedlington,
Birmingham, Kettering,
London,
Pershore, and Peterborough.
The BBCF returned to the UK in the fall of 2011
to perform at the
Brass in Concert Championship at
The Sage,
Gateshead,
and as one of two featured bands at the
World
of Brass in Concert. The band finished
in a tie for first place with the legendary Leyland Band
as well as winning Best Flugelhorn - John Copella, Best
Tenor Horn - Warren Kus, and Best Percussion section.
The BBCF has recorded six CDs: Brass A-Peel,
’Tis a Gift,
Sing, Sang, Sung,
Anniversary, The
Most Wonderful Time of the Year and their most
recent CD recorded in the historic Pershore Abbey in
2011 with a projected release in spring of 2012. All five CDs are available at

The Brass Band of Central Florida is an IRS 501 c (3)
tax-exempt and Florida non-profit corporation.
The organization’s
mission is to promote the British brass band style and
sound and to help preserve the long, colorful history of
its music.
